Vacancy - Graphic designer at EFFoST

We are looking for a passionate (foodie) graphic designer to support us in creating visual designs for our various projects and conference.

The European Federation of Food Science and Technology (EFFoST) facilitates the knowledge and technology exchange among food professionals. EFFoST creates opportunities for food scientist, engineers, technologists, policymakers and businesses in food and food-related areas to connect and collaborate with the objective to enhance the uptake of new technologies and developments. By supporting the further development of food science and technology, EFFoST aims to advance the production of sustainable and healthy food for all in a changing world.

To achieve this, EFFoST builds and sustains a European network for knowledge transfer, leveraging its community of food science and technology professionals. This is accomplished through The EFFoST Annual Conference, EFFoST Scientific Society, and our Working Groups. Furthermore, EFFoST participates in food-related EU-funded projects, taking responsibility for disseminating knowledge, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring the effective exploitation of results. These projects span a wide range of topics, from developing advanced technologies to creating societal impact by supporting innovation in small and medium-sized enterprises. 

We are looking for

We are looking for a part-time (16-20 hours/week) graphic designer to support us in creating visual designs for both print and digital media. You will be required to divide time between the various projects; the yearly Conference, the EFFoST Scientific Society and/or the EU funded projects. As part of a team of 9 people working at different levels on each project, you will operate in a dynamic international environment and in multi-disciplinary projects.

Activities

  • Design and create digital (info)graphics, visual identity, (social media) banners, flyers, branding guidelines, booklets, podcasts, templates and logos;
  • Implement and manage digital media;
  • Develop visual content for websites and social media;
  • Work with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Assist in video production;
  • Assist in website development and maintenance.

We ask

  • Experience in graphic design and DTP;
  • Experience working with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign;
  • Experience in Wordpress or other website building systems is a pre;
  • Knowledge of Mailchimp is a plus;
  • Strong portfolio showcasing creative designs;
  • Accuracy, good eye for details, and a strong sense of branding;
  • 1+ years relevant working experience;
  • Experience in working in multi-disciplinary or international teams;
  • Good knowledge of English;
  • You can work well independently but are also a keen team player;
  • Structured, organised and able to meet deadlines;

We offer

  • 16-20 hours working week, spread over 3-4 days;
  • A gross monthly salary ranging between € 3.200 and € 4.000, excluding 8% holiday allowance (based on a 36 hours working week. For part-time employment, the salary will be paid on a pro-rata basis).
  • 144 hours statutory holiday hours plus 36 additional holiday hours (based on a 36 hours working week. For part-time employment, the holiday hours will be calculated on a pro-rata basis).
  • Contract period: 1-year contract, with the intention to extend;
  • The possibility for hybrid working (minimum of 2 days at the office);
  • Contribution to the ABP pension fund.
