EFFoST2021 - Invitation from Prof. Christoph Hartmann

October 20, 2021

This year the scientific programme of the 35th EFFoST International Conference will be hosted by Agroscope, Bühler Group, EPFL, ETH Zürich and Nestlé. As conference chair, Prof. Christoph Hartmann would like to invite you all to come share new insights at EFFoST2021!

Dear colleagues and friends,

On behalf of the organizing committee, it is my great pleasure to invite you to join us at the 35th EFFoST International Conference. The past months have shown us how important progress in science and technology is to overcome the challenges of our food system and to evolve towards a world of Healthy Individuals, Resilient Communities, and Global Food Security.

The 35th EFFoST International Conference 2021 shall be a catalyst for collaboration between industry, academia and governments to address challenges in food and nutrition. The Local Organising Committee with strong support from the Scientific Committee has prepared a very rich and diverse programme comprising of 11 plenary lectures, 3 panel discussions, more than 120 oral contributions in 23 parallel session and over 350 posters, along our themes:

  • Advancing Science for Shifting Consumer Trends,
  • Shaping Robust and Flexible Supply Chain & Manufacturing Setups,
  • Engineering Affordable and Sustainable Nutrition Solutions.

While only weeks ago the conference was hard to imagine as an on-site event, we are fortunate that the current situation allows us to convene physically at the Swiss Tech Convention Center. Precautionary measures will be taken to ensure your safety and confidence in attending EFFoST2021 at the Swiss Tech Convention Center, a COVID-free building.  All participants will be required to show an official photo ID and a digital COVID certificate upon entry to the Convention Centre, daily.

After a very long period of working online, it will be certainly wonderful to meet in person again. We hope you will enjoy EFFoST 2021 where you will have ample opportunity to build new partnerships and share the most recent developments in the field of Food Science and Technology!

The whole organization team and I are very much looking forward to welcoming you to Lausanne, a city in one of the most beautiful regions in the world and just a stone’s throw away from a UNESCO world heritage site.

With kind regards,
Professor Christoph Hartmann
