Events postponed – PEF School and ICP2020

March 17, 2020

A number of food science and technology events scheduled for the first half of 2020 need to adjust their plans due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Since the Coronavirus has swept through Europe, food scientists and technologists are adjusting their work routines to minimize the spread of the virus. This may involve working from home, reducing the number of staff in laboratories, or even closing experiments down. Most countries are restricting travel and gatherings of large numbers of people and as a result many meetings, conferences and symposia need to be rescheduled or cancelled. EFFoST would like to keep you informed of these changes:

Postponed
14th International Scientific Conference on Probiotics, Prebiotics, Gut Microbiota and Health, also known as IPC2020, to be held in May will now be held 9 – 12 November 2020.

Postponed
7th School on Pulsed Electric Field Applications in Food and Biotechnology (PEF School) scheduled for May has been postponed to 7-11 September 2020. The abstract submission deadline has been extended to 1 June 2020.

As scheduled
The 34th EFFoST International Conference ‘Bridging high-tech, food-tech and health: Consumer-oriented innovations’ will be held 10-12 November 2020. EFFoST 2020 is hosted by Technion in Tel Aviv, Israel. We are optimistic that the virus outbreak will be at a manageable level by then and that our event will take place as planned.

Let’s all do our best to flatten the curve and delay the peak!
