Held the day before the 33rd EFFoST international conference (12 – 14 November 2019, Rotterdam), the Young EFFoST Day 2019 will revolve around the theme ‘Performing by Connecting’ and focus on interactions between young food professionals working in science, industry and/or start-ups. By connecting the worlds of academia and industry, this event aims to both inspire and facilitate interaction between them.

The day will be opened by Niek Koning, a social scientist focused on the relationships between the agro-food economy, institutions and politics at Wageningen University. By taking us through the history of our food production system, Niek Koning will provide context to the work we do today in the field of Agriculture and Food Science. Then, the emphasis will shift to networking and career perspectives. The day will end with a 3MT contest. Six selected participants will present their 3-minute pitch from the pulpit at the Arminius church. A professional jury together with the audience will select the Young EFFoST winner of 2019!
