Student of the Year Award

Every year EFFoST together with Cargill organises the Student of the Year Award competition to support and encourage the next generation of food scientists. The competition is open for all MSc and PhD students in Food Science or Food Technology in Europe. Nominees will have free access to the 33rd EFFoST International Conference, including hotel and travel costs. The winners will have the opportunity to visit Cargill’s European Research & Development Centre in Belgium and interact with the technologists and scientists working here.

The MSc and PhD Student of the Year Award consist of the following prizes:

All awarded students will also receive:

  • A travel budget of maximum € 1,000 to attend the 33rd EFFoST International Conference in Rotterdam, The Netherlands
  • Free access to the EFFoST International Conference Dinner
  • A visit to Cargill R&D Centre Europe in Vilvoorde, Belgium in early 2020
  • A travel budget of maximum € 1,000 to visit the Cargill R&D Centre Europe in early 2020

To enter this competition, MSc Students have to submit an abstract of their final thesis and PhD students have to submit an abstract of their research toward their PhD degree before 15 July 2019 for the 33rd EFFoST International Conference taking place from 12-14 November 2019 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
